Back at the end of July we had our Summer Playscheme in partnership with Young Manchester and their Holiday Buzz fund.

It was for kids aged 7-11 and was based in our Catalyst Youth Centre in Burnage. Over the two-week period 57 local children took part in centre based and park activities!

We were also supported by Fareshare Greater Manchester who provided healthy snacks and ingredients for us to be able to do some baking with the children during that rainy days. United Utilities also supported us by supplying 40 refillable water bottles, encouraging us all to think about plastic waste.

Feedback received from children and their parents was incredibly popular. Children said:

“I have liked going to the park and cooking, I have also liked having staff around, without this we would be bored.”

“I have learnt how to play the DJ decks and have made loads of new friends.”

“I have loved trying new fruit, going to the park, making things and spending time with my friends.”

Feedback from parents included:

“My daughter has absolutely loved it. Thank you must go to all the staff who have made the 2 weeks enjoyable and have looked after her.”

“It’s all my kids have talked about, can’t wait to get back here.”

“It’s brilliant that you are able to put this on, it gives us parents the opportunity to get our work done, without having to worry about what our kids are doing.”

We also want to thank our team of amazing staff! They are brilliant at what they do, and they do it with bags of enthusiasm and passion. We can’t wait to do more play schemes in the future!
