Catalyst is our detached youth work programme working in partnership with Greater Manchester Police and Manchester City Council.

The project involves running 8 detached youth work sessions per week utilising both the Police Youth Bus and our own Youth Vehicle in local parks and estates around Didsbury, Fallowfield, Withington, Northenden, Wythenshawe and Chorlton. Once there our team and the PCSO's engage with any young people who may be hanging around, inviting them onto the bus to make use of the games and activities on board and spending time chatting with them and getting to know them. This is a great way of helping young people avoid getting involved in anti-social behavior and also helps to break down barriers between young people and the police.

This aspect of N-Gage’s work began in 2004 as ’Shift’ and during the last 7 years due to our presence in local parks and other areas has resulted in a marked reduction in crime and anti-social behaviour.
