What young people say...
We asked one of the Young people we have been working with for a while to tell us what difference N-Gage had made in her life. This is what she told us...
J came to N-Gage when refered by a teacher at school when she was 13. She joined the Step Up School Inclusion programme.
At the time, J says she “hated school, was naughty, cocky and had failed all the exams”. Despite her reluctance to be involved, she felt her attitude changing. Her school work improved as did her relationship with her teachers and her peers.
In September 2010, J started studying for A Level’s at college and hopes eventually to work with young people.
She is now a youth volunteer for N-Gage and was instrumental in setting up the Young Leaders Programme. In the next couple of months, working with other Young Leaders, J will lead a group in a Transform event, to paint a room used by a youth group at a local church.
She was one of the Young Leaders who stood up at the Quiz night in December 2010 and shared with a room full of N-Gage supporters the difference N-Gage has made in her life.
