N-GAGE IS AN INNOVATIVE RAPIDLY EXPANDING CHARITY SEEKING TO ENABLE YOUNG PEOPLE TO REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL, ATTAIN FULL BENEFIT FROM EDUCATION, TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR BEHAVIOUR AND DEVELOP POSITIVE CITIZENSHIP
We aim to achieve this in 3 key ways:
STEP UP: We work with groups of young people in primary and secondary schools who are at risk of permanent exclusion, running a purpose written program called Step Up. We look at a wide variety of issues that affect young people today including Citizenship, Law and Order, Racism, Drugs and Prison. We also run creative workshops such as street dance, dj-ing and percussion.
TRANSFORM: To enable young people to put something positive back into the community we run community action projects in tandem with the schools work that we do to reinforce what is taught in the classroom.
SHIFT: We also work closely with the local police running programmes of detached youth work on the streets and in the local parks.

THE N-GAGE PROJECT IS CURRENTLY WORKING INTENSIVELY WITH 70 SCHOOL PUPILS EACH WEEK !!!
N-Gage is currently hosting two placement students. One from the Nazarene Theological College and one from Manchester University. They are getting involved in all aspects of the work of N-Gage including planning sessions and face to face youth work. They are now halfway through the placement and are developing new skills and learning about the running of a busy youth project..
N-Gage has recently had the opportunity to work with GMPs Safer Schools Partnership Officer (SSPO) based at St Peters RC High School on a joint pilot project called 'Collabor8', funded by the Home Office. This unique programme has enabled us to work alongside the CPA, Police and Street Pastors. The programme has involved working with a small group of yr9 and yr10 pupils with varying behaviour issues covering topics such as team building, crime prevention including knife crime encompassing the Home Office endorsed 'Be Safe' training input. N-Gage is passionate about working with young people to see them fulfill their potential and the 'Collabor8' project, which epiitomises the partnership approach by working with the Christian Police Association, Street Pastors and GMP, lends itself well to helping us deliver our longer term vision.

We have recently invested in some new resources to aid the 1-1 sessions we deliver to school pupils. These modern desktop activities are used to help stimulate discussion and are proving popular.

Broadoak High School in Partington have an amazing resource called the Vocational Centre.
In this centre pupils are helped to learn a trade.
It has a fully working garage bay with space for three cars, a hair and beauty section, an indoor plastering room and media computer rooms.
Broadoak have recently agreed to let N-Gage use this on Fridays.
N-Gage is passionate about helping young people reach their full potential and by using this resource
we can continue to achieve this.
After a highly successful block of five weeks at this resource we hope to book further sessions over the coming weeks and months.

We look at a wide variety of issues that affect young people today including Citizenship, Law and Order, Racism, Drugs and Prison. Our ethos is to challenge and develop the young people in such a way as to enable them to obtain maximum benefit from their education .Due to increased demand and the popularity of our work we have recently started taking bookings for a whole academic year. This give us a chance to work for longer with the pupils who need us most and increases the chances to build meaningful relationships with all involved including staff.
To enable young people to put something positive back into the community we also run community action projects in tandem with the schools work that we do to reinforce what is taught in the classroom. This aspect of our work is called Transform.
We are also involved in detached youth work and go out onto the streets and into the local park with a team of volunteers and engage with local people. This area of our work is called Shift.
